Prompt 336-Global Lesson

What lesson do you think the world could benefit from?

A devilishly handsome man watched the blue planet spin from his monitor. The crystal clear live feed from his cloaked satellite halfway between the moon and Mars had an imperceptible delay. Tech he had developed, with help from beyond his galaxy. The nations of the world had no idea of the danger that lurked in their skies.

He grinned. Women had thrown themselves at his feet when he smiled at them. Men, too. He wondered if they would still proclaim their love for him if they saw his smile now. He wondered if his benefactors knew they had doomed themselves when they chose him. They would learn soon enough.

People were too trusting, no matter where they came from. He would teach them to be more discerning in the future. He laughed as he keyed in coordinates for the destructive otherworldly weapon on his satellite. That was, if he left them a future to put their lesson to use.

Notes: For some reason this prompt put a villain in my head. I thought I had more for it, but this was all it wanted to be for now. Seems about right for a Monday after a vacation. “But Sara, didn’t you work on this ahead of time?” Listen, I’ve said it before, they can’t all be winners, and I had nothing else interesting to add to this one. If it’s any consolation, tomorrow you will get a silly little Lara scene.

Hope you’re all having a great start to your week! One more scheduled prompt for tomorrow and then it’s back to my regularly scheduled procrastination! See you then!
