Hello followers and new visitors alike! You may be asking yourself, “Why does this look like a Sunday update post instead of the daily prompt I signed up to read?” An excellent query, savvy reader! You see, last night I could not stop sneezing. Being that it’s April in the northeast I assumed allergies and took some Zyrtec before bed hoping I’d be clear and bright today.
Well, that didn’t happen. I think the alternating warm/cold weather is wreaking havoc on my immune system. I was even more congested this morning and only got worse as the day went on. I don’t know about you, but allergies don’t give me that full-body ache I’ve got going on tonight. I got home from work a little after 4 and took a nap until about 630. Slept through a call from my husband wondering if he should bring home dinner. (Luckily I’d only missed him by a few minutes so he hadn’t left yet when I called him back to say “dinner, yes, please.”)
All of this to say, I’m sorry but there will be no regularly scheduled story or essay tonight. I figure I’ve got enough followers/traffic of late that I at least owe a brief notice if I’m unable to meet my own schedule rather than explain after the fact, as has been my usual modus operandi.
I’ve already taken some NyQuil and lathered myself in Thieves oil and taken some Sambucol for good measure so I suspect I’ll be back asleep in a short while. With any luck this thing will be on its way out and I can get back to the writing tomorrow. In the meantime, the prompts are available for your perusal as always, and there are 200+ older posts and stories to inspire or entertain you.
